SKYZOO

With his critically-acclaimed debut album “The Salvation,” Skyzoo was both Brooklyn’s narrator and curator. The album hit the Billboard Top 200 charts at No. 14, the fourth-highest position among new artists. Working with a cast of producers that included 9th Wonder, Just Blaze, Nottz, Black Milk, Best Kept Secret, and Illmind, he created a sonic successor to hip hop milestones “Reasonable Doubt,” “Ready to Die,” “Illmatic” and “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.”

The lyrics are why Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg felt confident enough to put a lord of the underground among Nas, Andre Benjamin, Lil’ Wayne, and Talib Kweli as the top lyricists alive.

TORAE

Torae gained recognition by collaborating with DJ Premier and Marco Polo. He and Marco Polo went on to receive critical acclaim for their collaborative LP entitled „Double Barrel“.

With Cosigns from Hiphop Dx, 2DopeBoyz, Nah Right, Hot 97, XXL and a dope new album feat. production from DJ Premier and Pete Rock, if you are serious about Hiphop this is a man you need to catch up with.

CHIMA ANYA

Chima Anya is a name familiar to anyone with a serious interest in Hip-hop in the UK. His debut mixtape came to national attention with support from Kiss, Choice, 1xtra and Radio 1, all while practising full time as a medical doctor.

Having shared stages with legends such as Amp fiddler, KRS 1, Jay Electronica,Dead Prez and Pharaohe Monch it’s no surprise that when asked Chima states his greatest joy comes from performing. Always engaging, energetic and charismatic, Chima also fronts his own genre-leading 4 piece electronic / hip-hop outfit; a group that can only be described as a “must see”.

For the past eight years SoulBrew have been the go to parties for those looking for carefree, unpretentious parties with the very best guests playing great sounds. It is a formula that has worked well at every one of their previous 8 packed New Year’s Eve events making it one of the most established and popular parties in town so if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

This year residents Spin Doctor & Andy Bird are joined by another incredible line up of guests all of whom have a proven SoulBrew track record as well as huge fan bases after years of producing great music & DJing in every country with a set of decks.

Between them they have worked with everyone from James Brown to Elton John and Lilley Allen to Alice Russell, sold millions of records worldwide, performed in front of huge crowds and in the case of two in particular boast an OBE, two Ivor Novello awards not to mention 2 Grammys between them.

Once again you can expect a fun packed mix of sounds old and new that will take in everything including Soul, Disco, Hip-Hop, House, Reggae and beyond at London’s best value New Year’s Eve party.

SoulBrew All-Stars: Spin Doctor & Andrew Bird
These fellas have been rocking parties collectively and individually throughout the capital, up and down the country and in far reaches of the world for well over 8 years now. As the starting place for any SoulBrew party they know what it takes to get a party bumping and will be doing just that as we see in the new year.

Jazzie B (Soul II Soul)
A long time friend of SoulBrew’s this man is an institution having won Grammys, an Ivor Novelo, received the keys to several American cities and this year been a teacher at Jamie’s Dream School. Despite having made his start in the industry over 30 years ago he is still as hungry and passionate as ever. Constantly in demand playing live shows and DJ gigs throughout the world to packed houses it’s no wonder even the Queen bigged him up with an OBE.

Ashley Beedle
Has as many guises as Carlos The Jackal having been making music as X-Press 2 (with whom he bagged an Ivor), Ballistic Brothers, Disco Evangelists, Black Science Orchestra, Roots Revolution Jamayka Boys (credited by many for the first Dubstep production) & Mavis to name a few. Spinning tunes around the world since the early 80’s he is a DJ’s DJ, equally comfortable playing House, Hip Hop & Disco as he is Reggae and Techno. This open-minded versatility explains why he is such a favourite of the fun loving boys and girls that make up the SoulBrew regulars.

DJ Vadim (BBE / Ninja Tunes)
Has an impeccable reputation as a DJ, Producer, A&R and all round good guy. Having released an incredible eight full length albums for renowned labels such as Ninja Tunes and BBE his stock is incredibly still on the rise with international DJ and live shows keeping him in air miles. His funk fueled eclectic mix of the old and new takes in everything from Reggae and Dubstep to Hip-Hop and Disco so is sure to be whipping up a storm as we party into 2012.

Kyri R2
Is one of the unsung heroes of London’s party scenes rocking every place he plays no matter the night of the week or size of the dance-floor. His impeccable choice of soul drenched floor fillers have seen him well served not only when DJing but with the choices he has made for his excellent R2 Records. With Kyri in charge you are certainly in safe hands.

Spin Doctor
Mr Thing
Chris P Cuts
& host MC Prankster

===================================================

As ever The Doctor’s Orders like to keep you on your toes and we do that tonight not only by inviting a Drum & Bass legend to spin an exclusive Hip-Hop set but also by bringing you one of the hottest MCs to be coming out of the US right now.

Jumping Jack Frost is without a doubt one of the most influential names in D&B. Having started life as Reggae, Funk, Soul & Hip-Hop DJ back in the day before he got swept up in the Acid House movement of the mid 80’s following that into Hardcore and then Drum & Bass. Alongside his existing DJ partner Brain Gee he set up V Recordings which specialised in the Jazzier Soulful and dare we say it more Hip-Hop influenced side of D&B with releases from luminaries such as Roni Size, Krust, Dillinga and many more. Tonight the man joins us for our final On The Real party of the year to go back to his roots as he spins an exclusive Hip-Hop set for our fun loving crowd.

Performing live on the night we have one of the most exciting MC’s to emerge in the last couple of year Stalley. When someone has the likes of Rick Ross & Dame Dash in their corner you know they have to be paid attention. This Ohio native came to many people’s attention when his ‘Born To Win’ track was used in a Nike promo (http://tinyurl.com/cve272s) but with two mixtapes, including the brilliant ‘Lincoln Way Nights’ (http://tinyurl.com/44qos4p) and an now an album on its way with Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group it is not long before Stalley is the name on everyone’s lips. With a sound drenched in the soulful breaks of the golden era and a style uniquely his own he is the perfect match for The Doctor’s Orders dedicated heads.

As ever our special guests will be welcomed by the best line up of residents of any Hip-Hop club. Spin DoctorMr Thing & Chris P Cuts will as ever be tearing up the dance-floor with classics new and old making sure you are left looking forward to more On The Real events in 2012.

One Inch Badge presents:

DAS RACIST
Das Racist is an Art Rap/Freak Folk/World Music duo based in Brooklyn, New York, comprised of Queens-born Himanshu Kumar and San Francisco-born Victor Vazquez. The two met at Bard Art College in Massachusetts, where Victor was Himanshu’s resident advisor in a “Students of Color for Social Justice” themed Freshman year dormitory.
After a couple of years of occasional drunken freestyles with each other, Himanshu and Victor decided to record a couple of raps together.
The first of which was called “We Made It” and immediately became a hit amongst stupid assholes who like rap from the 1990s and really want that shit to keep happening. The second track was called “Fever” and it was fucking terrible – really bad. Then they made some other songs and then they made “Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell” which is the one that everyone likes and then they made some other songs.

Pete Rocks production acumen was highly praised along side of his partner in rhyme [C.L. Smooth] who possessed a distinctive flow matched with a perfect delivery. Classical songs such as They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.), a tribute song packed with emotions that hasnt been duplicated up to this day and showed the conscientious of the lyrical rhyme slayer C.L.
